Floristry

our popular floristry courses cater for complete beginners as well as those who already have some floristry experience. Learners have the opportunity to create beautiful arrangements and get accredited qualifications as well as gain valuable work experience on our floristry stall.

Gardening

the gardening project is just beginning to offer voluntary and paid work opportunities to those who want to get involved in growing and composting

Bridge Building

members can gain support in finding out about mainstream community activities including courses and voluntary opportunities. Whether it is a hobby or a way of getting back to work, the Bridge Building team will help Members achieve their aims. This service is available outside of SMART by request.

Healthy Kickers

The sessions will cover basic fitness, graduated levels of football training and 5-7 a side matches. The Healthy Kickers meet every Thursday (1:30pm-3:00pm) at the Westway Sports Centre and benefit from professional training by Queens Park Rangers’ coaches. Support Staff is also always be on hand to provide motivation and additional advice, to ensure participants develop the confidence to engage fully with the sessions.

Kitchen-project

members can volunteer on the Café counter, help in the kitchen, learn food and hygiene skills or be employed as a chef. If you would like us to cater and/or host your event just email

Café

Breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks are served from 10:00 to 16:00. We offer paid, voluntary and training positions in the kitchen and on the counter. There is always a healthy option and our chefs keep up-to-date with what food is good for mental health. The café hosts a variety of taster sessions and workshops – from yoga to art – that are open to all. Just check our calendar for upcoming events

SMART Music

The Music project has been running since 2005. It began as collaboration between SMART and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and was a weekly musical gathering in the SMART café.

Now it is a dynamic and ever-evolving project with a variety of participatory music groups and events, including bands, singers, workshops and courses and a drop-in

The SMART music café drop in session runs on Wednesdays from 2-4pm – open to all. Just come down and enjoy tea, cake, good company and great music. All abilities and musical tastes welcome!

Art Groups

An Art group run by a local artist. Held every Tuesday from 14:00 to 16:00. Come along whatever your ability.

Clubs

run in locations throughout the borough and costing just £1 for entry, food and drink (not to mention a whole host of activities and trips). See the calendar for more details.

Advocacy

run by Advocate for Mental Health, 1:1 appointments are available fortnightly with a fully trained advocate.

Self help groups

currently we host a Manic Depression Fellowship self help group but are looking to make our space available to others. Do you need a free meeting room?

Pharmacy

a quarterly group run jointly by Paul Woodruff from Willow and the hospital pharmacists where anyone can ask questions about medication.
